Mike Yedgarian Wins the NMCA/NMRA SuperBowl

It was an action packed weekend for Mike Yedgarian from Ontario. He was at the NMCA and NMRA Super Bowl at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. Mike’s Super Street 10.5 Trans Am was large and in charge for the duration of the event. His recently rebuilt, bright yellow Trans Am gets its power from a Pro Line Racing 540ci PB1600 combined with a pair of Precision Pro-Mod 88mm turbos.

In qualifying, Mike and Steve Petty wanted to start gently, because of a new front end design. Once they felt it was good to go, Yedgarian took #1 qualifier with a 6.75@214mph and held that spot into eliminations.

In eliminations, he faced Mike Rees in his yellow Camaro. In the battle of the yellow cars, the Trans Am took the win and Yedgarian moved on to the finals. He then took on Nick Scavo in the final race. Scavo showed up in his big block twin-turbo Camaro. This match-up had all of the makings of a great finals race, and it didn’t disappoint. Mike and Nick stayed pretty close, but Yedgarian was able to take the victory with a 6.97@208mph to Scavo’s 7.07@203mph.

We are glad to see Mike back on the track doing what he does best!
