Quickest Turbo Car in the World - Danny Lowry

RICHMOND, VA (June 23rd) –The ADRL U.S. Drags V event at Virginia Motorsports Park was full of ups and downs for Pro Extreme racer Danny Lowry. However, the ups far outweighed the downs as he and the Pro Line Racing crew sent out a message to the racing world.

The 2009 Pro Extreme Twin-Turbo Mustang, powered by the PLR 481X and twin Precision 94mm turbos, has been picking up momentum since the Bristol race and looked ready to take on whatever was thrown at it. Lowry started qualifying with a new personal best, a 3.91@195mph! By the 3rd and final round of qualifying, Lowry scored another personal best by running a 3.85@198mph, which placed him in the #14 qualifier spot.

Going into eliminations, his tuner Steve Petty felt that the car was ready to take more power and as a result, Lowry laid down the quickest turbocharged run ever! He ran an amazing 3.802@203.40mph!

In the 2nd round, Lowry had a bye run, but left before the tree was activated. The sun was in his eyes and he left early. It was a pretty tough break, but he drove it all the way down and the data showed more improvement than the 3.85 to the 3.80. It was a hard way to go out but we learned that we not only have a 3.70 car, but we have a competitive ADRL Pro Extreme car in the making. We look forward to the race in Martin and can't wait to see what this car is capable of! Congrats to Lowry, Petty, and the entire crew on this huge accomplishment!
