Tim Lynch Wins NHRA Unleashed - Atlanta Dragway

nhra_unleashed1_14jun10We had a blast this weekend at the NHRA Unleashed race at Atlanta International Dragway! There was a good turnout, the weather was scorching hot, and there were plenty of Pro Line Racing cars and drivers in attendance.

nhra_unleashed_final3_14jun10tTim Lynch and Steve Petty brought their new 2010 Outlaw 10.5 ZR1 Corvette to the track. Their Corvette is equipped with a Pro Line Racing 670ci engine with twin Precision Pro Mod 94mm turbos. Lynch qualified #7 with their new car. In eliminations he faced Bill Futch and won with a 4.49@177mph. He then matched up against Jill Hicks and walked away victorious with a 4.52@171mph. In the semi final round he took out Rob Wells with a 4.52@169mph. In the finals, Lynch took on Dave Cox in his ‘94 Mustang. Lynch took home the victory over Cox with a 4.60@169mph! Tim and Steve were very happy with their first win in the Corvette and their first Wally trophy!

Wes Whittle showed up from South Carolina with his Pro Line Racing 454ci Small Block Ford Mustang. After his 275 Drag Radial victory last week in Orangeburg, South Carolina, he set his sights on the EZ Street class. Wes qualified #2 in his class, and in eliminations, he defeated Bart Tobener and Chad Henderson with passes of 5.06@ 150.97mph and 5.38@141.94mph. Whittle made it all way to the final round but unfortunately lost to Jimmy Martin. Wes is a force to be reckoned with and we know we will be seeing a lot more from him in the future!

Eric Dillard, driving Todd Berry's Limited Street twin turbo Mustang, made his presence felt quickly by becoming the #1 qualifier in the first round with a 4.74@168mph! Berry's Mustang hosts a Pro Line Racing 632ci BBF engine with twin Precision Pro Mod 90mm turbos. In eliminations, he defeated Tommy Rainer and faced Kevin Scott in the semi finals. Dillard took out Scott with a 5.009@135.33mph. In the final round of eliminations he faced Keith Szabo and unfortunately lost to him on a hole shot.
