Gil Christy Motorsports Paints Their 10.5 Mustang

Gil Christy Motorsports and driver in the Ultimate Outlaws Shootout Series, Tom Kasper, have done the unthinkable. They have taken one of the fastest and nicest looking 10.5 cars in the world, and made it look even better! Gil Christy Motorsports recently made some major changes to their car and they are ready to burn up the dragstrip as the season continues.

Tom, and his son TJ, have been a dominant force all year long in the Outlaw 10.5 class. It seems like every time we hear the results of a race, it usually goes "Tom wins, TJ runners up" or the other way around. Both of the Gil Christy Motorsports cars are powered by Pro Line Racing engines and massive turbochargers.

They have given the 10.5 Mustang a Gunmetal Grey paint-job and a brand new front end to finish the aggressive look. Keep your eyes out for Tom and company as they make their way to some of the most important races of the year!

Today we are in South Carolina with Coby Rabon testing for his next race. The Automatic Promod Race @ Carolina Dragway will take place August 13th - 14th. Coby's Pro Mod Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is equipped with a PLR 670ci engine and twin Precision Pro Mod 94mm turbos. Coby made 3 passes earlier with the sun beating down on him. It was 97 degrees with a 150 degree track temp. We are currently waiting for it to cool down right now and we plan on making a couple test hits tonight. Enjoy the videos...

John Carter Wins at Cecil County Dragway

In addition to NHRA Unleashed, there was another exciting race taking place in Maryland. The Outlaw Street Car Shootout at Cecil County Dragway delivered great weather conditions and plenty of nail-biting suspense. Pro Line Racing customers; Tom Kasper, son TJ Kasper, and John Carter were looking to further dominate the Outlaw 10.5 and Drag Radial classes. Our own Steve Petty was there to aid them in the tuning process.

In Outlaw 10.5 action, Tom and TJ Kasper did what they do best, lay down unbeatable passes to qualify #'s 1 and 2. Tom took #1 with a blistering 4.44 and TJ followed suit with a 4.45. Needless to say, they breezed through qualifying, but this race was not going to be an easy task.

In eliminations, TJ passed Saud Alzabin with a 4.43@177mph and Tom walked by a struggling Steve Gorman. Unfortunately, the second round was a different story for Team Kasper. TJ had a slow start and couldn't recover against John Cheman and Tom red lit against Charlie Dolbin. Their night was cut short, but on the other hand, they had the three fastest runs of the night. Team Kasper has a lot of winning ahead of them and this will only make them harder to beat.

The Drag Radial class was also very competitive and John Carter rose to the top! With Steve Petty on his side, John qualified #1 with a 5.11@154mph. He eliminated Randy Lambert with a 5.11 and avoided danger as his next opponent,Bill Dutka, lost control of his Malibu. In the finals, John faced Quentin Methaney for the win. Carter went 5.23@145mph to Matheny’s 5.44@131mph and brought home the win for the second time in a row!

Cecil County Dragway is a spectacular place for drag racing and Pro Line Racing is happy to keep our customers updated about these events.

Pro Line Racing customers; Kevin Scott, Danny Lowry, and Brian Brown were in attendance.

Kevin Scott ,driving his Limited Street 1965 twin turbo Nova, had a strong qualifying run with a 4.859 taking 1st place for the first day. After the final round of qualifying, Kevin dropped to #3. Scott made it all the way to final eliminations and paired with Keith Szabo, winner of the last Unleashed in Atlanta. Kevin's 4.935@153.89mph wasn't enough to beat Szabo who ran an impressive 4.779@164.85mph to take the win.

In Outlaw 10.5, Danny Lowry had some difficulty making his way down the track during qualifying. Once he got used to the track, his PLR 670ci powered Mustang went 4.45@179mph and took the high MPH of the event. In eliminations, Lowry's 4.45 was outdone by another Pro Line Racing powered vehicle, Brian Brown's Mustang driven by Brian Harrell.

Brian Brown's Mustang threw down the fastest E.T.'s of the weekend. During testing, they had trouble keeping tires from spinning, but a quick tire change made all the difference. They took #1 qualifier with an incredible 4.41@178mph and defeated Lowry in eliminations with a 4.42. With low ETs throughout each elimination round, driver Brian Harrell was doing very well. In semifinals, Harrell was paired against Ed Parker. Unfortunately, just before the tree turned green, he red lit and ended their night one round earlier than they hoped. They had an impressive weekend with the ET's to brag about.

We are pleased to follow our customers and we look forward to the many races to come as the season progresses.

Photos by Dragzine and John Fore III.
