BLAKE COPSON WINS YELLOWBULLET NATIONALS OUTLAW 10.5 IN EPIC FINAL ROUND

RISING SUN, MD (SEPT 2, 2018) – The YellowBullet Nationals at Cecil County Dragway is one of those races that brings out the best in everyone involved. It is arguably one of the biggest events of the year and when it comes to Outlaw 10.5, it is the biggest! PLR was well represented in the Outlaw 10.5 class, but most notable was Blake Copson, son of long time PLR customer Joe Copson.

The Copson family C7 Corvette is powered by a PLR Hemi, twin 88mm turbos, Billet Atomizer Injectors, and controlled by the FuelTech FT600 EFI System. The car was built by Gary Naughton Race Cars.

Coming into this race, Blake had not been faster than a 4.11, he would need to get closer to the 3 second zone to be competitive at this race. He ended up qualified in the #5 spot with a 3.99 at 195mph.

Eliminations faced Blake against some of the most well-known 10.5 racers. He ran another 3.99 to take out Joel Wensley in E1. Next he rolled past Mo Hall in E2, running a 4.00 at 195mph to Mo's 4.03. Blake's E3 match-up against Steve Gorman was highlighted by a monstrous holeshot to get the win with a 4.09 to Gorman's 4.03!

In the finals, Blake faced former Outlaw 10.5 champion Mike Decker Jr! Copson's tuner, Josh Ledford, must've got the tune-up just right! Blake ran a 3.92 at 196mph to Decker's 3.93 at 195mph to take home the 2018 YellowBullet Nationals 10.5 victory! This was an epic final round that not many people expected.

Congrats to the Blake, Joe, the entire Copson family, Josh Ledford, Gary Naughton, Jamie Miller, and everyone else involved! This will be a race we all remember, Blake has a bright future ahead of him! We're looking forward to many more wins for this camp!
