Bounty Hunters No-Prep Grudge Nationals IV Race Report

SAN ANTONIO, TX (MARCH 8-9, 2019) – The big news from Bounty Hunters No-Prep IV is that the bright yellow The Texas Rattlesnake S10, tuned by our own Brandon Stroud took down some very stiff competition - at their first ever No-Prep race - to make their way to a final round finish.

“I knew in the finals we had a hot rod but with $20K on the line I just got excited and when I let go of the brake and turned the wheel to the left enough to get out of what would be a very small groove....I tried to get it to stick again but the power was just too much and I had to lift. That’s one fast Studebaker for sure!” said an excited Ronnie Hobbs. With 5 passes on radial tires and this being his first No-Prep race, it would be safe to say that Ronnie and his team are having fun and are looking forward to the next one!

Meanwhile, the Mills Racing and Daniel Pharris Motorsports collaboration, Golden Kong Camaro, tuned by PLR’s Jamie Miller, made headlines as they made the transition from RvW to No-Prep. Friday night first set tongues wagging as the 481x power plant got through to the Semi Finals, taking out Murder Nova to earn a spot in the Final round. Unfortunately rain came through Alamo City Motorplex and the night was called so they were unable to capitalize on their momentum.

Saturday was a bright and sunny day. 5 rounds were called which accumulated in Round 3 as an epic clash between two Pro Line powered, and well known race cars - Golden Kong vs. Fireball Camaro. The race was full of anticipation, but Ryan Martin and his team had the better car on the day!

The Street Outlaws 405 Fireball Camaro won the round by a car length and looked forward to battling it out in the final. Unfortunately though it was not to be as they pulled an early start (and a red light) in the Semi Final.

All in all, we’d say it was an exciting weekend for our Pro Line customers!
