Derek Menholt Earns First NHRA Pro Mod Victory at Midwest Nationals

ST. LOUIS, MO – Montana’s Derek Menholt made history at World Wide Technology Raceway by capturing his first career NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series victory at the NHRA Midwest Nationals. Driving for Scott Tidwell Racing, Menholt delivered a string of consistent performances that culminated in a 5.75-second pass at 249 mph in the final round.

“This is a dream come true,” Menholt said. “We’ve worked so hard for this moment, and to finally break through on a stage like this is incredible. I couldn’t ask for a better team or more supportive family.”

The Pro Mod category, one of the most competitive in NHRA drag racing, features cars capable of 250+ mph speeds. Menholt advanced through a stacked field before sealing the win under the lights in St. Louis.

Scott Tidwell, team owner, praised the milestone:

“This victory is the result of determination and teamwork. Derek drove lights-out all weekend, and the crew gave him a car capable of winning against some of the best in the class.”

The win not only marks a career highlight for Menholt but also establishes him and the Scott Tidwell Racing team as serious contenders in the NHRA Pro Mod ranks.
