Dragzine to Build 2017 Corvette Z06 with PLR Supercharged Power

  • Dragzine’s involvement in heads-up drag racing continues with an advanced new 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 built for Outlaw/Limited Drag Radial, Pro 275, & NMCA
  • PMR Race Cars to oversee build of 25.2 Corvette chassis with 4-link, integrated with factory frame rails and OEM chassis components for class legality
  • Pro Line Racing and ProCharger create R&D relationship to develop all-new Pro Line Racing ProCharger Supercharged Engines

Dragzine and Power Automedia will unveil plans at the 2016 PRI show to build a 2017 Corvette Z06 equipped with an all-new Pro Line Racing supercharged engine. Honoring its predecessor, the new project build will be named ‘BlownZ06’ continuing the heritage of the Dragzine build series. In 2016, Dragzine’s 2002 Camaro won the NMCA Limited Street championship and set the class e.t. record.

BlownZ06 will be built with factory Corvette frame rails and select OEM Chevrolet chassis and body components ensuring its legality in a variety of heads-up classes like Outlaw Drag Radial, NMCA Limited Street, Limited Drag Radial, and Pro 275. Also like its predecessors, the new Z06 will be powered by a centrifugal supercharger.

Pro Line Racing and Procharger are entering into an R&D relationship to develop a line of supercharged combinations capable of being competitive in classes from Pro Mod to Outlaw Drag Radial.

“We built our reputation in dominant turbocharged combinations in Pro Mod,” said Pro Line Racing’s Eric Dillard. “We are excited to enter into a relationship with ProCharger to seek this same level of success. With this Dragzine project, we are going to develop supercharger-spec PLR combinations utilizing ProCharger superchargers and FuelTech EFI. Our goal is simple - to make horsepower and win races.”
