Peter Norton is your 2025/2026 Drag Illustrated Winter Series Pro Mod Champion. He locked up the points title at the World Series of Pro Mod at Bradenton Motorsports Park in a moment that could not have been bigger.
It all came down to a winner take all semifinal matchup against fellow Proline customer Randy Weatherford. With everything on the line, Peter was ready. He laid down a .011 reaction time and drove to a 3.608 pass to secure the points he needed to claim the Championship in one of the toughest Pro Mod fields in the sport.
When the pressure was highest, he delivered.
From Tractor Pulling to the Top of Pro Mod
What makes this story even better is where it started.
Peter came into this season completely new to drag racing. A former tractor puller, he made the leap into Pro Mod competition and, in his first full season, walked away with both the Winter Series Championship and Rookie of the Year honors.
Going up against experienced drivers week after week, he stayed steady, kept improving, and made every round count.

Powered by Proline and Harts Charger
Peter’s Hurricane Motorsports ’69 Camaro is powered by a Proline engine and Harts Charger combination, tuned by Proline’s Rickie Jones. The setup proved itself all season long, delivering the power and consistency needed to compete at the highest level of Pro Mod racing.
The semifinal win at Bradenton was the defining moment, but the Championship was built on execution across the entire series.
A Season to Remember
Winning a Winter Series Pro Mod Championship as a first year driver is not something you see often. Peter Norton made the jump from tractor pulling to Pro Mod and did not just adapt, he went all the way to the top.
Congratulations to Peter and his entire team on an incredible 2025/2026 Winter Series run. This one will be remembered for a long time.
