Ryan Martin Captures First Wally in Inaugural NHRA Outlaw Street

CONCORD, N.C. (APRIL 2026)Ryan Martin, tuner Jamie Miller, and the Fireball Camaro team picked up a meaningful win in the debut of NHRA’s Outlaw Street series, earning his first career Wally after working through the field from the No. 8 qualifying position.

Martin faced Scott Taylor in the final round, where the race was decided at the starting line. Taylor went red by .002 seconds, giving Martin the advantage immediately. Martin stayed clean, made his pass, and secured the win.

After qualifying 8th, Martin put together a consistent performance through eliminations, taking advantage of each round and ultimately closing it out when the opportunity came.

“I wanted a Wally, and we were able to get one,” Martin said. “I’m excited, and I’m stoked. We struggled in qualifying, but we pulled it off.”

The result marks a significant moment in Martin’s career, coming after more than 20 years of competing at a high level.

The event also served as the launch of NHRA’s Outlaw Street series, a new class designed to give Street Outlaws-style racers a more structured, professional setting within the NHRA. Martin’s win puts him as the first winner in the class’s history and sets the tone heading into the rest of the season.
