Peter Norton Wins Big at IHRA Season Opener

BENSON, NC. (March 2026)Peter Norton continued his recent hot streak by picking up the Pro Modified victory at the IHRA Season Opener at Darana Motorsports Park (GALOT), adding another major accomplishment to an already impressive start to the year.

Coming off a strong winter series, Norton carried that momentum straight into competition, putting together a consistent and determined performance against a stacked field of Pro Mod contenders.

Working Through a Tough Field

Qualifying sixth, Norton entered race day with work to do, but quickly proved he had a car capable of going rounds. He turned on win lights against Craig Sullivan, Randy Weatherford, and John Doc to earn a spot in the final round.

Taking Down the Top Qualifier

In the final, Norton faced off with No. 1 qualifier Jason Harris, setting up a matchup between two of the strongest cars of the weekend.

With both drivers looking to capitalize on a strong start to the season, Norton delivered when it mattered most, putting together the winning run to secure the IHRA Season Opener title.
