BENSON, N.C. (March 2026) – Cory Reed captured the win in the inaugural Small Tire Bratz class at the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series event at Darana Motorsports Park (GALOT), becoming the first winner in the new category.
Driving Manny Buginga’s Mustang, tuned by Red Hat Mafia, Reed worked his way through the field with a consistent performance on race day.
Reed opened eliminations with a win over Adam Phillips, followed by a round two victory against Paul Powell. He advanced to the final after defeating Del Holbrook in the semifinals.
In the final round, Reed faced Bill Lutz and secured the win to close out a strong weekend.
The victory gives Reed the first win in Small Tire Bratz competition as IHRA officially launches the new class for the 2026 season.

Scott Taylor earned his first NHRA Wally at Brainerd, defeating Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington in a close all-Proline Racing customer final.
Paul Gargus and Scott Tidwell Racing earned another Pro Mod win at DragCoverage’s Night of Fire at Alabama International Dragway. Gargus qualified No. 1 with a 3.602 at 207.94 MPH before defeating No. 7 qualifier Michael Neal in the final.
Ned Dunphy earned his first career PDRA Pro Boost victory at the Thunder Valley Throwdown at Bristol Dragway, using consistent passes and strong reaction times to race his way into the winner’s circle.
