PRO LINE POWER CLAIMS THE PDRA PRO BOOST RECORD AT DRAG WARS

BENSON, NC (September 9, 2017) – The Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) held Drag Wars at Galot Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina, over the weekend. Being the second to last race of the season prompted many teams to turn the wick up in the chase for a championship. The Pro Line Racing-powered Q80 Racing/EGR team was there with their Chevy/Ford one-two punch. The Camaro came to inch towards epic Pro Extreme potential, and the Mustang came to defend a Pro Boost points lead.

The PLR Hemi-powered Q80/EGR 1969 Camaro ran a respectable 3.63 at 216 MPH pass in testing which showed promise in the team’s quest to unleash the full potential of “The Beast.” Surprisingly, the team struggled to get a handle on the power and qualified ninth in the eight car Pro Extreme feature. Fortunately, the seventh qualifier forfeited, which left the door open for The Beast to slide into eliminations. Round one of eliminations was bittersweet for the Q80/EGR team because The Beast ran an event best of 3.61 at 221 MPH, yet went red in the process.

There’s a points chase going on in PDRA Pro Boost and the Q80/EGR 1967 Mustang, aka “Eleanor,” came out swinging with intentions to gap all challengers. The PLR Hemi-powered Mustang dropped a 3.673-second payload at 214.55 MPH to set the Pro Boost record and qualify number one. Going into eliminations, Eleanor ran a solid 3.701-second pass to beat Jim Bell to the finish for a first round victory. Round two produced an improved 3.689-second elapsed time for Eleanor, which was enough to best Rick Fleck and advance to the semi-finals. Eleanor was out of hole first in the semis, yet made a move left and crossed the centerline and lost the round to event winner, Jeremy Ray. Even though Eleanor did not make it to the finals, it was enough to hang on to the series lead with one race to go.

Congratulations to the Q80 Racing/EGR team for running the quickest pass in PDRA Pro Boost history for a PDRA Drag Wars number one qualifier.
