Scott Taylor Wins Wally at NHRA Outlaw Street Brainerd Nationals

Scott Taylor earned his first NHRA Wally on August 23 with a win in the Right Trailers Outlaw Street Series at Brainerd International Raceway.

Taylor faced Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington in an all-Proline Racing customer final. With two closely matched cars, the race came down to the starting line. Taylor left with a .004 reaction time and ran a 3.709 at 202.82 mph, while Ellington recorded a .037 reaction time and a 3.717 at 203.46 mph.

Taylor secured the Wally by just .0419 second.

The win capped off a strong weekend for Taylor and his “Little Goldie” Camaro, which is powered by a Proline Racing Hemi and ProCharger combination. Taylor also qualified No. 1 with a 3.723 at 202 mph before working his way through eliminations.

Ellington’s current program also uses a ProCharger-equipped engine prepared by Proline Racing, making the final a close matchup between two Proline Racing customers.

The Brainerd victory adds another milestone to Taylor’s success with Little Goldie. He also remains undefeated with the Camaro in Outlaw Syndicate competition.

Congratulations to Scott Taylor Motorsports on earning the team’s first NHRA Wally, as well as Shawn Ellington and his crew on the runner-up finish.
