Congratulations to Troy Pirez Jr., Cameron Johnson, and the entire Eagle team on winning the FL2K 28 N/T Shootout at Bradenton Motorsports Park. The victory came in the Camaro’s second outing since switching to a Harts Charger.
The win marked an important step for the collaboration between Cameron Johnson Race Cars and Innovative Racecraft, following their work to prepare, test, and race Eagle with its updated combination.
Previously owned and raced by Garrett Mitchell, better known as Cleetus McFarland, Eagle is a 1969 Camaro originally built by Cameron Johnson Race Cars. Johnson purchased the car earlier this year, bringing it back to the shop that built it.
The team then replaced Eagle’s twin-turbo setup with a Harts Charger, giving the Proline Racing Hemi-powered Camaro a new combination to develop.
Pirez first competed in the updated Eagle at the Yellowbullet Nationals alongside the Innovative Racecraft and CJRC crew. That outing gave the team an opportunity to work through issues and gain experience before heading to FL2K.
At their second event with the Harts Charger setup, Pirez drove Eagle to the 28 N/T Shootout victory. It was an early reward for the work both crews have put into the program.
Congratulations to Troy, Cameron, the Innovative Racecraft and Cameron Johnson Race Cars crews, and all the partners involved in Eagle’s FL2K win.
