Congratulations to Scott Taylor and his team on winning the inaugural 2026 Right Trailers NHRA Outlaw Street Championship. With three consecutive final-round appearances and two event victories, Taylor secured the title before the four-race season’s final stop in Texas.
Taylor opened the season with a runner-up finish at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, where Outlaw Street made its NHRA debut. That final-round appearance laid the foundation for a championship effort that continued with back-to-back wins at Brainerd and Indianapolis.
At Brainerd International Raceway, Taylor earned his first NHRA Wally by defeating fellow Proline Racing customer Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington. Taylor recorded a nearly perfect .004 reaction time and ran 3.709 seconds at 202.82 mph, while Ellington posted a .037 reaction time and a 3.717 at 203.46 mph. His starting-line advantage and slightly quicker pass secured the victory.
TheBrainerd Outlaw Street win marked an important milestone for Scott Taylor Motorsports. After reaching the final in Charlotte, Taylor returned to the final at the next event and left with his first Wally.
Two weeks later, Taylor added another at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. Facing Kyle Canion in his third consecutive Outlaw Street final, Taylor ran 3.703 seconds after Canion went red. The victory made Taylor the category’s first repeat winner and added a U.S. Nationals title to the team’s season.
His performance through Indianapolis also guaranteed him the inaugural NHRA Outlaw Street Championship. With a runner-up finish and two victories in the first three events, Taylor had secured the title before arriving at the Texas FallNationals.
That consistency defined his championship season. Scott Taylor Motorsports reached the final at each of the opening three races, turning a strong start in Charlotte into consecutive victories at two major NHRA events. TheIndianapolis win completed the results needed to put the championship out of reach.
Taylor’s “Little Goldie” 1969 Camaro uses a Proline Racing Hemi and ProCharger combination. The Camaro carried him to both event victories and the first championship awarded in the new NHRA category. We are proud to be part of the Little Goldie program and to see the team’s work rewarded with this accomplishment.
The championship holds additional significance because Taylor helped bring Outlaw Street to the NHRA stage through his work with Right Trailers. His involvement helped give the racers and their cars a place on the national-event schedule. Becoming the category’s first champion adds a meaningful achievement to his role in getting it started.
Congratulations to Scott, his family, crew, partners, and everyone involved with Scott Taylor Motorsports on the inaugural NHRA Outlaw Street Championship. From the Charlotte final to a first Wally at Brainerd and another at Indianapolis, the team put together a season worth celebrating.
Carson Baker earned his first NHRA Wally at the Texas Fall Nationals, using a .003 reaction time to defeat Clay Cole on a holeshot in Right Trailers Outlaw Street.
Troy Pirez Jr. drove Cameron Johnson’s Eagle Camaro to the FL2K 28 N/T Shootout win in just its second outing since switching to a Harts Charger.
Manny Buginga and Carson Perry earned Swanfest victories at Rockingham Dragway, with Buginga winning N/T 28’s and Perry taking Pro Mod for Redd Topp Motorsports.
