JOLIET, IL (JULY 29th, 2018) - James Lawrence and the Dragzine.com C7 crew have added yet another win to their 2018 NMCA season. Lawrence, the current NMCA Radial Wars points leader, came to the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl with 2 wins under his belt year, one at Bradenton and the other at Bowling Green.
The Dragzine.com C7 Corvette is powered by a 548ci PLR Hemi with an F3-136 ProCharger, Billet Atomizer Injectors, and a FuelTech FT600 EFI System.
Lawrence started off by qualifying #3 with a 3.93 at 192mph right behind #2 Marty Stinnett and #1 DeWayne Mills and the PLR-powered Golden Gorilla Camaro. During round 1 of eliminations, Lawrence ripped off the low ET of the event with a 3.88 at 193 mph vs Bill Houghton. E2 he faced Marty Stinnett in his freshly painted Mustang. The Dragzine.com Corvette ran a 3.91 at 192 to beat Stinnett's 3.98 at 191 mph.
In an all PLR-powered final round, Lawrence took the win light with a 3.89 at 192mph against DeWayne Mills who looked to be on a great pass but spun and aborted the run at half track.
Roderjan Busato captured the Pro Mod victory at the FT BR SPORT CUP in Brazil, while Aristeu da Veiga set a new Pro Mod class record with a 3.670-second pass at 336 km/h. It was another successful weekend for Proline-powered teams on one of Brazil's biggest drag racing stages.
Jason Harris picked up the IHRA Triple Crown Pro Mod win in Hebron, Ohio, after qualifying No. 1 and driving his Proline-powered "Party Time" Camaro to victory in the final round.
Jason Collins earned his second NHRA Pro Mod victory of the season at the Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol. After a wild second-round incident involving a detached steering wheel during his burnout, Collins and the Scott Tidwell Racing team battled back to claim the win and lock themselves into the NHRA Pro Mod Countdown to the Championship.
